We Won Best of Bergen!

201 Magazine

A few months back, some of you might remember that we posted that we were in the running for “Best Bakery” in 201 Magazine’s annual Best of Bergen issue. They do this issue every year and let everyone in Bergen County cast their votes for their favorites in lots of different categories, from pizzerias and ice cream parlors to hardware stores and thai restaurants.

Well, you guys apparently got to work on voting hard because we just got the new issue this morning to see that we tied with Teaneck’s longstanding (and defending champ) Butterflake Bake Shop for Best Bakery. To say we’re thrilled would be an understatement. We know our cupcakes are awesome, and we know our customers are awesome, but it’s a really pleasant surprise to find out you guys think we’re doing that great, and we haven’t even hit the two-year mark yet! We really owe all of our success to you guys, so we really can never thank you enough for your continued support.

The Cat’s Out of the Bag

Wow. Just wow. You guys are like a pack of rabid cupcake-loving beasts sometimes. We were getting calls non-stop yesterday asking about our secret flavor. We held out until the end, though. No one found out without coming in to check it out, and everyone who DID come in to check it out was pretty pleased.

So now that we’re totally sold out, we’ll let everyone in on the big secret. The mysterious flavor was…

Bacon Maple Walnut
Bacon Maple Walnut!

Yes, it’s got bacon on it. Vegan soy bacon, of course. We know the whole bacon cupcake thing isn’t new, but we’re also pretty sure there aren’t many other VEGAN bacon cupcakes. And just for the record, it’s a delicious maple walnut cake, topped with a buttery glaze, drizzled with maple syrup, and of course, topped off with a slice of vegan bacon.

Now, based on the reaction we got, we’re going to make this a regular cupcake on our menu soon, but until we’re able to assign it to a permanent schedule we’re just going to be having it erratically whenever we feel like making it.

Wait, wait, calm down. I hear you. You want to know how you can get your mitts on this earth shattering beauty of a cupcake. Well, it’s hard to say, but your best chance of getting a heads-up over everyone else as to when it’ll be available is to either follow us on Twitter or join our Facebook group. We’ll give those folks a little advance notice so they can swing by for vegan bacon maple goodness before anyone else.

Pssst… I have a secret!

I know we usually debut new flavors at the beginning of every month, but we’ve come up with something so amazingly awesome, that it just couldn’t be contained until February 1st. As such, we are debuting this brand new, super secret cupcake tomorrow (Sat. January 24th). We’re not going to tell you what it is yet. You’ll have to come in to see; however, we will tell you that it will most likely be the best cupcake you’ve ever had. It’s certainly Jake’s new favorite.

New Printed Cupcakes

The guys at Pix-l Graphx here in Rutherford recently contacted us to design some custom printed cupcakes with their logo. We’re back!

We’re back from our vacation with new flavors! Coming up this month we have awesome new flavors like Rosewater Pistachio, Hummingbird and Fleur de Sel Caramel! We’ll have more details and a finalized new daily menu with photos shortly, so check back soon.
